New Iberia teens charged with burglary

Two New Iberia teens captured on video surveillance have been charged with burglary.

On August 14, 2014 deputies responded to the 3400 block of North side Road, Iberia Parish in reference to a business burglary. According to the owners of the business approximately $6,000 worth of inventory and items were taken from the business. An air-conditioning window unit was also reported stolen from the business.

Through further investigation detectives were able to identify the two suspects who were captured on video surveillance during the burglary. On August 18, 2014 19 year old Shay Lacour of New Iberia was taken into custody along with a 16 year old male juvenile. The majority of the stolen property was recovered and located.

Lacour was charged with simple burglary and contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. He was then booked into the Iberia Parish Jail.

The 16 year old juvenile was charged with simple burglary, issued a summons and then released into the custody of his parents.
