Lafayette Named Happiest City in America
The Wall Street Journal’s MarketWatch.com has released the results of data collected “from a working paper by Harvard professor Edward Glaeser, Vancouver School of Economics professor Joshua Gottlieb and Harvard doctoral student Oren Ziv. They used data collected in a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention survey called the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System and then adjusted it for age, sex, race, income and other factors to determine which cities and states are the happiest in the U.S.”
The study’s findings revealed that of all the cities in America Lafayette is the happiest and Louisiana is the happiest state with the top five cities in the study all being from our great state. Lafayette ranked first followed by Houma, Shreveport, Baton Rouge and Alexandria. Lake Charles rounded out the top ten ranking eighth in the study.
