Suspect Arrested for Discharging Firearm on Fast Food Parking Lot

On August 30, 2014, at approximately 3:15 am, Lafayette Police responded to the 1400 block of Johnston Street regarding a male suspect discharging a firearm.  When police arrived they located the victim who was not injured.  The victim told police he was involved in a verbal altercation with another subject on the parking of Taco Bell, when the suspect allegedly produced a pistol and fired multiple shots into the air.  The suspect was then observed fleeing the parking on Johnston Street.  Lafayette Police were able to locate the suspect at his residence on General Mouton.  The suspect, Mark Hebert (29) of Lafayette, was arrested and charged with Illegal Use of a Firearm.  Officers recovered a pistol on the floorboard of Hebert’s truck believed to be used in the disturbance.
