Suspects arrested with AK-47 and Drugs

Lafayette, LA – On August 30, 2014, at approximately 12:30 am, Lafayette Police responded to an ATM located in the 2500 block of Moss Street regarding a suspicious circumstance. The witness reported observing a male suspect exit his truck at the ATM while holding a “sub-machine gun”. When officers arrived they located the truck and the male driver exited holding a Mardi Gras mask. The male suspect, Arthur Joubert (28) of Lafayette, was arrested and charged with Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, Illegal Carrying of a Weapon in the presence of a Control Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of Marijuana 3rd Offense. The female passenger, Victoria Deville (26) of Lafayette, was arrested and charged with Possession of Schedule II and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Lafayette Police recovered four rifles, to include an AK-47, a pistol and illegal drugs.  Both Deville and Joubert were booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.
