After an incident involving the Lafayette Regional Airport’s former director pointing a fake gun at an engineer during a disagreement in June the airport, along with a board of five have decided to take its search for a new director nationwide. The search launch was started august 15th and will last until September 26th.
Fifteen applicants have already submitted for the job, five of which are Louisiana natives. But Lafayette councilman Kenneth Boudreaux who’s a member of the search committee,
Says they are looking for someone qualified across the board especially when it comes to Lafayette
“Kenneth Boudreaux: “Being able to relate to people, and just understand Lafayette as a whole. It’s festive community, its community involvement, someone who can reach out and step out of their comfort zone and really achieve.””
The final list of applicants will be handed over to the airport commission for their last round of interviews and a final selection will be made in January.
