Becoming a school bus driver may soon be easier than you think. The school board is now considering lowering its bus driver requirements for the second time in under two years. This reconsideration comes just one day after around thirty students were left at the W. D. & Mary Baker Smith Career Center without any transportation.
The bus driver scheduled to pick them up called in that day saying that he could not make it, and because the school board was unable to find a substitute driver students were asked to call their parents to pick them up. A mistake school board officials say they want to prevent ever happening again.
