(St. Martinville, LA.)-This morning, the U.S. Marshals Violent Offender Task Force arrested a St. Martinville man in connection with the home invasion and shooting August 18, 2014 on Russo Milazzo Road in St. Martinville. Mr. Kelvin Batiste, 20, St. Martinville, was arrested at an Apartment Complex in Baton Rouge. In addition to Mr. Batiste’s arrest today, another suspect, Mr. Kee’cyric Warner, 17, New Iberia, was arrested on August 29, 2014 by Investigators with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office. Both Mr. Batiste and Mr. Warner were charged with Attempted First Degree Murder.
This morning, Mr. Batiste was initially booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Jail and then he was transported back to St. Martin Parish this afternoon where he was booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center on the above charge. No bond has been set on Mr. Batiste at the time of this release. Mr. Warner’s bond was set at $500,000.00.
Two other persons, Mr. Kedrick Paul Broussard, 19, Carencro, and Mr. Kecyiel Maleka Warner, 18, New Iberia, were previously arrested in connection to the shooting and home invasion on Russo Milazzo Road and were also charged with Attempted First Degree Murder and they both remain in the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center on a $500,000.00 bond.
