Tech company to bring jobs to Lafayette

Governor Bobby Jindal made a stop in Lafayette Thursday to make an announcement that will lead to around 500 new jobs in Acadiana.

Governor Jindal along with Jeff Davis, the CEO of Perficient. A software giant, announced the company will be creating a software development center in Lafayette, creating nearly 250 new direct jobs averaging around $60,000 per year.

Louisiana Economic Development says the project will also create around 250 new indirect jobs in the Acadiana region.

The acquisition of the Perficient project marks the third major software development and technology sector gain in the Lafayette area this year. Perficient plans to begin hiring within the next couple of months and launching operations before the end of the year.
