Family, friends and co-workers mourned the death of Justin Rice, Jr., a 20-year old man who passed in a fatal motorcycle accident on October, 23rd.
Kendall Livingston, a co-worker of Rice, Jr. described the young man as a beautiful person.
“(He was) a hard-worker with not a negative bone in his body.”
“I found out when I got to work,” said another co-worker, Eric Louis. ”I found out that he had been in an accident. It was kind of hard to believe. I’m still actually trying to put it all together.”
Rice Jr’s motorcycle crossed a center line on Foreman Drive. He struck a mailbox and died of his injuries later that night. Services were held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness in Abbeville. His father, Justin Sr., welcomed the support of fellow bikers at his son’s funeral, but hoped they all took a lesson away from Rice Jr’s death.
“Y’all just got to be careful out there. I don’t want my son to die in vain. I just want everybody to know, be careful on them motorcycles. My son is not dead right now. He’s just resting.”
