Arrest made in Family Dollar Store robbery


Lafayette, LA – Detectives with the Lafayette Police Department have arrested Hendric Cormier (27) of Lafayette and charged him with Armed Robbery.  Cormier is believed to be responsible for the robbery at the Family Dollar store earlier this day.  The investigation remains ongoing.


A Lafayette Family Dollar Store was robbed early Sunday morning and police are still searching for the suspect.

Lafayette police responded to an armed robbery at the store in the 2000 block of Moss Street. According to employees, a black male suspect entered the business wearing a blue sweater and a blue scarf covering his face.  The suspect produced a pistol and was given an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing the area on foot.

No one was injured during the incident.
