Lafayette police and swat officials responded to a report of a man firing shots Sunday morning outside his home on West Bayou Parkway.
According to Corporal Paul Mouton, the call came in around 4 AM by neighbors who were awoken by the gunshots. When police arrived, Mouton say there was no response from the resident inside the home.
Around 10 AM Mouton said they were able to make contact with an individual whom they believe may have been suffering with depression and unaware of his actions. Mouton said the man left with police and is being treated at a local hospital.
No injuries were reported.
