Saints QB Brees overcomes picks in Sunday victory

A brutal performance by Saints quarterback Drew Brees turned into an acceptable one in the fourth quarter Sunday as he marched his team downfield for two touchdowns in a defeat of Tampa Bay.

Brees actually had his team moving at times before the stretch drive, but threw three interceptions to kill momentum. All of them were picked off deep in Buccaneers territory, including the first, which was snagged in the end zone.

He finished 24 of 38 for 281 yards and a 36-yard scoring strike to Marques Colston with 1:57 remaining to give New Orleans the victory. Brees was 14 of 22 for 184 yards in the second half.
