With the New Year comes the opportunity for a fresh start. For many people, this means leading a healthier lifestyle and losing weight.

Lately we’ve seen the trend of working out to stay healthy instead of just hitting the gym to lose weight. Studies show that juicing, eating whole foods and for many going Vegan can not only keep the pounds off but also keep the doctor away.

Those living here in the Hub City say their motivation for working out this year is to feel better, have more energy, and perhaps even live longer.

“I don’t want to see myself slip away. I want to just, as I said, stay fit for the New Year. Eat healthy, I Juice, I do a lot of things to stay fit” says fitness enthusiast Keith Sonnier.

Sonnier also says diabetes, heart disease and keeping his blood pressure low also play a big part in his fitness routine.
