Lafayette woman identified in fatal crash

Police have identified the Lafayette woman killed in a fatal crash on Robley Drive.

50 year old Jeanne Tatman of Lafayette was killed when her vehicle was struck Thursday evening.

Around 7:30 PM on Thursday night, police responded to the call at the intersection of Broadmoor Blvd. and Robley Drive.  Police say an SUV driven by 43 year old Miguel Reyes was traveling along Robley Drive and disregarded a stop sign. The SUV collided with a white Nissan driven by 50 year old Jeanne Tatman of Lafayette. Tatman died at the scene. Reyes was transported to a local hospital and treated for minor injuries and then booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.

Lafayette Police have charged 43 year old Miguel Reyes with OWI 3rd Offense, Driving Under Suspension for a prior OWI, Vehicular Homicide and Failure to Stop at a Stop Sign.

The crash remains under investigation.

Police say an SUV was traveling along Robley drive when the driver disregarded a stop sign. The SUV collided with a white Nissan that had entered the intersection. The 50 year old female driver of the Nissan was transported to the hospital and pronounced dead.  The driver of the SUV, 43-year-old Miguel Reyes was also transported to a local hospital. He is being treated for minor injuries.
