Calcasieu Parish deputies find $313,000 worth of marijuana during traffic stop


LAKE CHARLES, La. (KLFY) – A Georgia woman is accused of transporting $313,000 worth of marijuana through Calcasieu Parish. Deputies pulled over Jessica Calloway, 29, of Stone Mountain, Ga., Saturday morning on Interstate 10 near mile marker 30 for a traffic stop.

The officer said Calloway she acted suspicious and wouldn’t let him search her vehicle. Officers said a drug detection dog found 112 pounds of marijuana in the trunk of the vehicle.

Calloway was charged with marijuana possession with the intent to distribute. She is jailed in the Calcasieu Correctional Center on $60,000 bond.
