I-210 open following early morning bomb threat

Update: In Lake Charles, state police say all lanes of the interstate 210 bridge, better known as the 210 loop, are open again following an early morning bomb threat.

Sergeant James Anderson said the bridge was closed when troopers received a call about a vehicle fire around 4:30 a.m. When troopers arrived, they found a man in a vehicle who said he had a bomb. The man, who has not been identified, was taken into custody.


State Police have closed the I-210 bridge in Lake Charles in both directions due to a bomb threat. Sergeant James Anderson with Louisiana State Police says they received word of a possible bomb in a vehicle on the bridge. Authorities are inspecting the bridge and advise motorists to use I-10 as a detour.
