Authorities in Iberia Parish are looking for a suspect responsible for a shooting that occurred Wednesday night in New Iberia.
Sheriff Louis Ackal reports that on March 4, 2015 shortly after 7:30 p.m. deputies with the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting at the 600 Block of South Hopkins Street in New Iberia.
Once deputies arrived they learned that a 22 year old male victim had been shot several times after an altercation with another male. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he is in stable condition.
After further investigation detectives with the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office Bureau of Investigations were able to identify a suspect and a warrant has been issued for 26 year old Tristan Bernard for attempted 2nd degree murder for the shooting of the 22 year old victim.
