Body of man, 30, recovered from bayou after crash

LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) – The body of a 30-year-old man has been pulled from Black Bayou near Lake Charles.

State police said the body was recovered Monday. And, they identified the man as 30-year-old Michael Chase Fontenot of the Grand Lake community. Fontenot had been reported missing by his family late last week.

State police say Fontenot is believed to have been driving on Louisiana Highway 385 at high speed. The car he was in went through a guard rail. The car was spotted Friday afternoon. The body was located Monday morning about 300 yards from where the vehicle was found.
