Breaux Bridge woman arrested following stabbing

Shortly after 5:00 p.m. yesterday afternoon, Deputies with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in progress in the 1000 block of Camp Bon Ton Road in Breaux Bridge, LA.  Upon arrival, Deputies discovered a male subject who had sustained a stab wound to the back. The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for his injury. The suspect, Brooke Mathis, 26, Breaux Bridge, had initially fled the scene prior to deputies’ arrival, but was apprehended a short time later at a residence off of Hollow Oak Road where she was arrested and charged with Aggravated Second Degree Battery (Domestic/Child Endangerment).

Following her arrest, she was booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center on the above charge.
