EBT/SNAP benefits now accepted by Market vendors

The Lafayette Farmers and Artisans Market at the Horse Farm is making strides to increase community access to fresh, local food options in Lafayette.  Several vendors selling eligible food items will now accept payments through a token system at the Market. Any customer with an EBT card can visit the Market’s Welcome Tent to receive tokens in exchange for a debit amount of their choice. EBT cardholders can then spend the tokens as currency at participating Market booths for eligible items including breads, cereals, fruits, vegetables, meats, poultry, dairy products, and seeds and plants which produce food for the household to eat.  The Market is open every Saturday from 8 a.m.-12 p.m., rain or shine.
