The International Association of Francophone Mayors held their annual meeting on Monday in Lafayette.
The mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo presided over the meeting. The board of directors is made up of 25 members who are International Francophone Mayors from large francophone cities from around the world. This is the first time the organization meets in the United States, and Lafayette is the first city in the US to become a member of AIMF.
The mayors presented to the AIMF board their plans for a North American Network to be anchored by the city of Quebec for Canada and the city-parish of Lafayette for the USA.
