Attempted murder suspect Theobegi Levier is believed to be headed to Tennessee. Says the Saint Landry Parish Sheriff’s Department. A $3500 Reward is now being offered of information leading to his capture.
Levier escaped St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s custody as he was being transported to an Opelousas health unit for a doctor’s appointment.
Lieutenant Clay Higgins says evidence shows Levier was handcuffed and shackled when he overpowered a deputy and fled on foot.
This marks the second time levier escaped custody. The first time he fled from Opelousas deputy Marshalls in February.
After three weeks on the run, he was caught by Ville Platte Deputy Marshal Horace Johnson. Johnson was shocked to hear Levier is on the run once again.
“Horace Johnson: “You never know could be Evangeline, St. Landry it could be any parish. I mean when you’re on the run, you’re on the run. You can run for so long but you’re going to get caught. He is going to get caught and that’s my words to him he is going to get caught.”
The massive manhunt for levier continues. Higgins says he will face additional charges.
