PLAYday 2015, originally set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 18, is cancelled because of inclement weather.
“We regret having to cancel this year, but the weather this week and the forecast for the next few days is not favorable for an outdoor event of this size,” said Bootsie Durand, chief executive officer with Southwest Louisiana Area Health Education Center, or SWLAHEC, which presents PLAYday annually with the Kids Specialty Center and Women’s & Children’s Hospital.
“We look forward to everyone joining us in Spring 2016 for another amazing event,” Durand said.
PLAYday annually features a football toss, fun jumps, a rock wall, an obstacle course, exercise demonstrations, summer camp information, free car seat safety checks and much more. And the best part: There is no cost to attend. The event is open to the public.
Families, especially those with children in grades Pre-K to 5, are encouraged to attend together to enjoy the various activities and learn as a family about ways to have fun this summer while staying away from the common pitfalls of video games, television and high-calorie snacks.
