LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) – The Lafayette Parish School Board takes a step closer to choosing a new leader for the school system with candidate interviews on Wednesday.
Earlier this month, the board selected its top three candidates from a pool of 12 applicants. They include Don Aguillard, St. Mary Parish Schools superintendent; Carlos Sam, associate superintendent of East Baton Rouge Parish schools; and Francis Touchet Jr., Louisiana Department of Education network leader providing support to school districts.
Suzanne Thibodeaux, human resources assistant director, tells The Advocate (http://bit.ly/1Ejh2Qv) the order of the interviews will be determined at random.
Board members have said they’d like to have a new superintendent in place in time to train with interim Superintendent Burnell LeJeune, who plans to retire this summer.
