Sunday was the final day of the Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival, and there was still of plenty of music, fun and crawfish to go around. The festival started the day with a crawfish etouffee cook-off. We caught up with this year’s winners to see what made their etouffee stand out from the competition.
Eva Guidry says they stuck to the essentials.
“For one thing it’s a good old fashioned recipe. Nothing else added but the bare essentials. But it seems to win and everybody loves it.”
“We did put a little twist on it this year, and both of our husbands have won with this recipe, and now we’ve won with this recipe” said Jennifer Self.
The pair took home a weekend trip to New Orleans, one hundred and fifty dollars, and a special plaque.
