LAKE MARY, Fla. — George Zimmerman was involved in a shooting incident Monday in Lake Mary, Florida, police tell CBS affiliate WKMG.
The incident took place on Lake Mary Boulevard in the community north of Orlando.
It’s not known what prompted the shooting, but police said two vehicles were involved, reports the station.
Video from a WKMG helicopter showed a sport utility truck, believed to be a Honda Ridgeline belonging to Zimmerman, being towed. There was a possible bullet hole in the passenger-side window of the truck, reports the station.
An SUV was also at the scene.
Zimmerman, a former neighborhood watch volunteer, was acquitted in 2013 in the shooting death of unarmed teen Trayvon Martin in nearby Sanford.
He was accused of assault by his girlfriend in January, but no charges were filed after she recanted her allegation.
