A Houma woman was arrested this weekend for allegedly saying she had left a bomb on the Amelia Belle Casino boat, according to the St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office arrest report. Authorities have now arrested 41 year old Sherry Whittaker and charged her with terrorizing after she was overheard saying that she left a bomb on the boat which is docked in Amelia, LA, one hour east of Lafayette. Authorities say a complainant, who heard the comment, notified the sheriff’s office. Deputies responded and launched a criminal investigation while assisting the captain of the vessel in evacuating the boat. Deputies then conducted a search of the vessel and no bomb was located. The captain then reopened the casino boat to patrons. Whitaker was taken into custody and is currently being held in the St. Mary Parish Jail with no bond.
