Three people, including a mother and son, were arrested recently for allegedly dealing drugs within a school zone.
Dana MaCauley (38), her son Gavin (20), and Brooke Coincon (23) were taken into police custody yesterday. Mamou police received a tip Tuesday morning regarding heavy drug activity at a home only six hundred and thirty feet away from Mamou high school.
Following the bust, officers found synthetic marijuana and crystal meth in the railroad avenue residence. Police believe the trio were dealing drugs out of the home but not to any students at the nearby high school.
The suspects are now in the Evangeline Parish jail facing multiple drug charges.
