The newborn was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania on Friday in a duffel bag and pronounced dead.

The child’s 22-year-old mother is also at the hospital. No word on her condition.

Family friends say the woman was possibly 5-6 months along.

Few others details have been released.

It’s unclear what the baby’s manner of death is. An autopsy is expected to be performed.

Police are working to execute a search warrant at the residence where the mother lived with relatives.
