Terrebonne Parish man hit by train remains in critical condition

Terrebonne Parish Sheriff Jerry Larpenter said that on Tuesday morning at 8:30 a.m. deputies responded to Burlington Court in Schriever regarding a subject being struck by a train.

According to Larpenter, deputies arrived at this location and learned that a man was struck by a cargo train. It appeared that the subject was riding a bicycle and fell on the train track.  As the train was approaching the man attempted to roll away from the tracks but was unsuccessful.  The train struck the man and the bicycle.
