St. Martin Parish Police Investigating After Stray Bullet Narrowly Misses Sleeping Homeowner

Sheriff Deputies are still searching for the people responsible for a stray bullet that nearly hit a homeowner who was sleeping Tuesday morning in the 2400 block of Main Highway in Breaux Bridge.  Deputies say  at 12:24 a.m. they responded to the area after getting a call from homeowners saying they woke up to the sounds of gunshots. Neighbors say they heard several rounds hit their home and their car which was parked in the driveway.

During the investigation, deputies say they found a bullet went into another home on the block, narrowly missing a resident sleeping inside.

The case remains under investigation.  Deputies are asking anyone with information to please contact the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office at (337) 304-3071. The information given can be anonymously.
