Jeanerette to interview four candidates for police chief position

Marvin Grogan resigned his position as Chief of Police for the City of Jeanerette

Aprill Foulcard, Mayor of Jeanerette, announced on Friday that four candidates will be interviewed for the appointment as the the new Chief of Police. The Mayor and Board of Alderman will conduct the interviews on Monday.

The four candidates to be interviewed are:

Gloria Lombard – the current interim Chief of Police for Jeanerette Police Department through June 30; Assistant Chief of Police for Jeanerette Police Department since 2012; first female patrol officer appointed to Franklin Police Department 37 years ago

Jeffrey Matthews – current Deputy for the Jeanerette Marshal’s Office since 2010; Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office from 2005-2010

Terrance Moore – current Lieutenant for the Franklin Police department since 2008; Jeanerette Police Department from 2002-2008

Robert Champagne – current reserve Police Officer for Baldwin Police Department since 2010; Pearl River Police Department from 2008-2010

The new Chief of Police is expected to be named in the next few weeks.
