A pitcher’s duel Friday night at Fabacher between the top two teams in the TCL, Brazos Valley and Acadiana.  The CaneCutters entered the game having already lost to the Bombers in the 1st game of the series.  Acadiana’s Nick McCarty pitched 6 2/3rd allowing just 3 hits and 2 runs, but he took the loss 4-1 as the Bombers improved to 16-4 on the year.

Acadiana took the lead on a suicide squeeze by pinch hitter Leiff Clarkson in the bottom of the 6th.  Brazos Valley responded with 2 runs in the top of the 7th, and added two more in the top of the 8th.   The Bombers Calloway Kirkpatrick earned the win, as the Bombers now have a 4.5 game lead over the 2nd place Cutters.

For Acadiana, good news: the Victoria Generals are also on a 2 game losing streak, and come into Fabacher on Saturday Night. Bad News: Acadiana has scored just 4 runs in the last two games.

Acadiana is now 5-5 in the last 10 games, and sports an overall record of 13-10.  The CaneCutters are at home for the next two games vs. 3rd place Victoria!

Saturday for the Fabulous Cajun Chicken Bobblehead night, and then on Sunday for Bring you Pet to the park Night.
