General public comment period at LPSB meetings may be elimated

The general public comment period at the end of Lafayette Parish school board meetings may be eliminated.

For years, the board has allowed public comment about any school-related issue throughout regular meetings. That included following a vote taken during the meeting or something that was not on the agenda. But now, under proposed policy changes, comments must address items that are on the agenda and presented before a final vote with a three minute time limit.
