NEW ORLEANS – Saturday’s Garth Brooks’ doubleheader concerts could cause some traffic issues downtown, so it seems the buzzwords are ‘arrive early’ and ‘be patient.’
Brooks is doing four concerts – Friday night, two Saturday night concerts and Sunday night.
The Saturday concerts are scheduled for 7 pm and 10:30 pm.
Traffic leaving the early concert could mix with traffic arriving for the later one, so those in the area of the Smoothie King Center should anticipate delays.
Parking at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome and the Champions Garage will be limited to Garages 1, 1A, and 6 at the Superdome and Lot 3 at Champions for the early concert. The charge is $15.
Parking for the 10:30 p.m. concert will be limited to Superdome Garages 2, 2A and 5 and Champions Garage Lot 3A.
Parking opens at 3:30 for the early concert and 8:30 for the later concert.
People arriving for the 10:30 concert will have to remain on the east and west sides of the Superdome exterior plaza and will not be allowed to congregate near the Smoothie King Center until the audience for the first concert has completely exited the Arena.
