Many family and friends gathered at Delhomme Funeral Home in Lafayette to remember Jillian Johnson(33). On the back of her memorial card were words to a song she performed often with her band, “The Figs” called “To Sail the Sea.””
Family members, friends and community members went to the funeral home to give their condolences to Jillian’s family.
News Ten’s Jazmin Thibodeaux went inside to pay her respects to the family.
Jillian’s parents and her husband, Jason Brown, were very kind to her.
They told her they are thankful for all of the love and support Acadiana has shown their family.
She said the mood inside was one of reflection and remembrance.
There were many tears and hugs during the visitation.
Also inside, were many beautiful photos from Jillian’s life that were displayed in picture frames and on a screen.
The Flag of Acadiana was even placed over her casket.
Jillian’s husband posted this quote on the Red Arrow Workshop page,”She was a once-in-a-lifetime gal. A mother, daughter, sister and a truly exceptional wife. She was an artist, a musician, an entrepreneur and a true renaissance woman.”
He called Johnson the love of his life.
Brown said the outpouring of support has been a bright light during a truly dark time.
