Gas prices set to drop to about two dollars per gallon by Labor Day

KALB – Louisiana – Could gas prices drop to about two dollars a gallon by Labor Day?

Consumers are paying the lowest average price for this time of year since 2009. Gas prices have been declining for the last 21 days and are expected to keep moving lower leading up to September.

News Channel Five went out to ask local drivers about how lower prices at the pump would affect their budget.

“I would be saving a lot of money because right now it is high and you barely get a little bit for what you pay.”

“From a personal standpoint I love it. Now what it will do to the overall economy I do not know. But for my stand point, great.”

Analysts say the drop in gas prices is related to domestic markets remaining oversupplied with crude oil.
