Several events are planned throughout this weekend to help area kids keep a positive attitude as they head back to school. Take today for example, The Acadiana Nature Trail hosted an event where kids were able to build their own birdcage. It took a lot of strength and some elbow grease but we think everyone was happy as they walked away with their prized possesion and the memories that will last forever.
Earlier on Saturday, the “Doughnuts for Dads,” event was held at the Holy Rosary Institute on Carmel Drive. Dads and grandpa’s lined the hallways with their kids in tow to grab a doughnut or two or three with milk and juice, and do art work, communicate about the new school year and have open discussion with their kids.
Head Start Director Alvin Jones was the guest speaker.
