LIVINGSTON, La. (AP) – A Tickfaw man has been arrested on a count of attempted second-degree murder after shooting his son three times, according to the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Anthony Vicknair Sr., 56, of Tickfaw was arrested Thursday in a subdivision north of Albany.
Police allege Vicknair fired on his son five times, striking him in the chest, head and hand.
The newspaper reports that the son drove himself to a hospital, where he was still recovering but listed in stable condition as of Friday.
Deputies found the handgun used in the shooting and booked Vicknair into the Livingston Parish Detention Center.
Investigators are trying to figure out what touched off the shooting, but Sheriff Jason Ard said Vicknair Sr. and his son have had a violent past.
