Saints CB Keenan Lewis out 4-6 weeks

NEW ORLEANS – Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network reports that cornerback Keenan Lewis will miss the first 4-6 weeks of the season following hip surgery Tuesday.

The Saints, who play injury status very close to the vest, likely won’t have too much to say, but concerns over the secondary include Lewis, along with safety Jairus Byrd, who has not practiced in training camp and this year’s high-profile signee, Brandon Browner, who has likewise been absent from practices, but did return Tuesday, according to reports.

The Saints are not required to post any updates on player status until next Wednesday, prior to Sunday’s opener, so it is unlikely that they will do so sooner than that time.
