Two Iberia Parish men were arrested Wednesday after a tip led officers to two residences suspected of containing illegal narcotics.
According to the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office, narcotics agents with the Iberia Parish Sheriffs Office along with officers with Probation and Parole executed two search warrants at 338 Deare St. and 322 Deare St. in New Iberia. Agents located illegal narcotics, firearms and money from drug proceeds at the two residences.
In all, agents confiscated more than $3,500 along with five firearms and hydrocodone pills.
Dequincy Jamel Lewis, 24, of 338 Deare St., was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession with intent to distribute schedule II narcotics, monies derived from the sales of illegal narcotics, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance and second offense possession of marijuana
Patrick Wayne Sam, 21, of 322 Deare St., was charged with two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Both suspects are believed to be involved in illegal gang activity. Music videos were posted on social media showing the suspects possessing firearms illegal narcotics.
Agents are continuing their investigation and expect more arrests to follow.
