A 21-year-old man from Cut Off is accused of climbing a security fence and entering a secure area behind Mike VI’s habitat on the Louisiana State University campus around the time of the Sept. 5 LSU-McNeese St. football game.
But the live tiger was at the football stadium at the time, making a pregame appearance.
LSU police arrested Trent Paul Boudreaux on criminal trespassing after security cameras confirmed a man inside a security fence.
University spokesman Ernie Ballard says Boudreaux scaled a fence about 8 feet high and damaged it. Boudreaux also was cited with simple criminal damage, but was not jailed.
Ballard says Boudreaux would have had to cross another barrier to enter the animal’s habitat.
LSU Police Capt. Cory Lalonde says Boudreaux isn’t an LSU student.
