NEW ORLEANS – The Saints’ secondary, already reeling from injuries to safety Jairus Byrd and cornerback Keenan Lewis, received another blow Sunday when safety Rafael Bush was sidelined with what the the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport is saying is a torn pectoral muscle.
It is anticipated that Byrd and Lewis will be back, but likely not for a few more games.
The Saints don’t traditionally talk about injuries, but Lyons Yellin of WWL-TV reported that Bush was in a brace after injuring himself in the loss to the Cardinals. Another report has the team signing safety Kenny Phillips to replace him.
While the Saints don’t talk about injuries that might sideline a player for a period of time, they will usually make a move or announce if a player is done for the season.
