The High School Nation tour made its only Louisiana stop in Lafayette Friday.
Lafayette High School students were treated to a performance from Nickelodeon star Drake Bell, as well as exhibits featuring music and the arts.
“The purpose of the tour is to keep the performing and visual arts alive and to introduce students to a variety of careers in the arts besides the performance aspect,” the Lafayette Parish School System said. “The sponsors of the tour have given enough money to not only make this a free event, but also to donate $10,000 worth of music and visual arts equipment to each school they visit.”
At Lafayette High, students were able to play various instruments and hold a question-and-answer session on the performing arts with Bell, who later performed a concert for the whole school.
