Abbeville man arrested on 12 warrants, including drug charges

An Abbeville man is now in jail after being arrested Tuesday by the Lafayette City Marshals. Brandon Green was wanted on 11 felony warrants and a misdemeanor warrant.

Several of the felony warrants were for drug charges including:

  • Distribution of cocaine
  • Possession with the intent to distribute crack cocaine (2 counts)
  • Possession of hydrocodone
  • Possession of prescription drugs without a prescription
  • Transactions involving drug proceeds

Green was also wanted for possession of a firearm and escape. Deputy Marshal Phil Conrad says marshals tried to stop Green and two others in a vehicle near the intersection of Johnston Street and Duhon Road.

Green and the other occupants got out of the vehicle and ran from the marshals. Authorities captured Brandon Green in the backyard of his home in the 200 block Palms Drive, according to Deputy Marshal Conrad.

Timothy Green was also arrested on two warrants from Vermillion Parish.

Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s deputies assisted the marshals with the arrests.
