Lake Charles man arrested for using counterfeit money at casino

A Lake Charles man was arrested on Monday after he was caught using counterfeit money at a Lake Charles area casino.

Jarred Blakey (28) of Lake Charles attempted to buy into a poker game using a counterfeit $100 bill. Troopers discovered additional counterfeit money on Blakey as well as marijuana in one of Blakey’s pockets and in his hotel room. Further investigation revealed Blakey also used counterfeit money on Sunday.

Troopers placed Blakey under arrest for ten counts of monetary instrument abuse and one count of possession of marijuana. Blakey was booked into the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center.

Bond was set at $105,000.
