East Baton Rouge Deputies rescue 20 students stranded in flood waters

East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s deputies rescued 20 children from a bus that was stranded on a flooded bridge Monday morning.

The bus was headed to Northeast Elementary School when it became stuck around 8:20 a.m. in the 2000 block of Carson, according to a release from the sheriff’s office.

No one was injured during the incident. Authorities want to remind motorists to avoid driving through flood waters.
