Police are looking for two men who allegedly robbed two people and shot one of the victims on Tuesday night, according to the Lafayette Police Department.
The incident happened at an apartment complex in the 100 block of South Beadle Road around 9:20 p.m.
The victims were walking in the parking lot when the suspects approached them. Cpl. Paul Mouton said the first victim, “forced to the ground at gunpoint and the suspects stole the victim’s shoes, jewelry, and cash.”
The suspects then demanded property from the second victim and then allegedly shot the victim three times. The second victim was taken to a local hospital and remains in critical condition, according to Cpl. Mouton.
Detectives have warrants to arrest both suspects: Joseph Freeman, 17, of Lafayette, and Denzel Jones, 20, of Carencro.
Both men are wanted on the charge of Armed Robbery and Freeman is also wanted for Attempted First Degree Murder.
