This weekend, Hollywood heads to the bayou. Actually, it’s been here for a bit, but the Southern Screen Film Festival celebrates all things in southern filmmaking. (It’s even in their name).

From movie premieres (such as “Experimenter” tonight), red carpets, workshops, industry networking and more movies than you can shake a stick at (seriously, I tried and failed), Southern Screen has everything you’d expect from a major film festival, but does it with a Cajun accent. A festival pass is $40 and provides access to all events, all weekend (or you can pay $5-$10 per event).

DETAILS: Today-Sunday. Various venues around Lafayette, but mostly downtown. All ages welcome at most events. Visit SouthernScreen.org for event schedule, passes, and more details.
