The following is a release from the City of New Iberia:
Due to the possibility of severe weather forecasted for this area, the City of New Iberia will have sand bags available to the public from 11:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. today.
The filled bags will be handed out at 907 Fulton Street. For ease of access and to aid in traffic flow, Public Works Dept. asks that residents approach the facility from the North Street side.

Captain Ryan Turner of the Iberia Parish Sheriff’s Office said:
Sheriff Louis Ackal would like to advise citizens in Iberia Parish of possible sever weather beginning this afternoon lasting throughout the evening. Sheriff Ackal asks to avoid roadways with standing water and driving if at all possible in the event of any inclement weather.
Sandbags will be available at several Fire Stations in Iberia Parish. They are as follows: BOM Fire Station, Rynella Fire Station and Coteau Fire Station.
